Well, today is my lovely sister's 28th birthday. I could ramble on about all the times when we were younger and I thought "there's no way I'm ever gonna like her!" We fought as all siblings do...she shoved me in the oven, told me I was adopted, put me in the dryer, swiped rugs out from underneath me literally. My grandma Johnson would always tell us, "one day you're gonna love her, she'll be your best friend." We would just laugh. But the truth is, grandma was right, aren't they always. My sister is pretty cool. That's not something I would have said 15 years ago. Times have changed and so have we. She is my best friend. It's very difficult being this far away from her, but I guess this is part of growing up. Ok, ok enough with the heavy. Happy birthday Andrea! I'm enjoying a day of in-home pampering in your honor...homemade facial masks, mani, pedi, hair treatments, so thanks for having a birthday! I miss you and love you lots!
Happy Birthday to your Sis! I have an older sister. I recently got married and moved away and haven't seen in her in a couple months. It's so strange being away from your family, and all the times you've fought seem pretty insignificant. There really isn't anything like a sister though, is there?! :]

assssssshhhhhleeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! this is so nice it made me cry! I tell the story of when I pulled the rug out from underneath you all the time :) however, it was my jacket if you recall! I love you too and miss you very much!!! xoxoxoxoxoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra! Very true, sisters are pretty amazing! We are so lucky to have them :) Its always nice to hear another "leaving the nest" story. It was/still is difficult for me, but I am realizing I'm not alone, its just a part of life for many people. Thanks for reading!
ReplyDeleteAnd sis, how could I forget that it was a jacket! It just seemed easier to use the proverbial "rug" story. Glad I made you cry!!! Hahahaha in a good way of course :)
