Hemnes

Nate and I are trying to get an idea of how much we can expect to spend on furniture when we eventually get our own place.  Remember we are just starting out.  We have acquired nothing over the years, because with hockey...there was no driving around a U-Haul.  We are planning on a two bedroom condo or townhouse, so the price to furnish, two bedrooms, a den, one maybe two living spaces, and a dinning area are a little astounding.  And I'm pretty thrifty, I'm all about strolling through used furniture stores and garage sales to find a few great pieces, but its still adding up quickly. 

I know that some people think that IKEA can be expensive for such cheap furniture, but truthfully, I haven't been able to beat their prices on bedroom furniture packages.  And one collection in particular, I can't beat the style.  It's their Hemnes Collection, I love it, and the best part....Nate loves it too!  Here are a few pieces we would include in our bedroom.  I'll give the grand total price for the whole room at the end.

Now for the grand total, this is the best part.  The total includes:

King Bedframe (includes rails, headboard, baseboard)
(2) Nightstands
8-Drawer Chest (with mirror)
King Comforter Cover and Pillowcases (I already own this)
(2) Bedside Lamps
The chandelier is not included in this price, but I do love it...maybe I'd have to splurge.
Grand Total: $850!
No furniture store I've been to can beat that.  Now if only we just had the house!
