And So It Begins

The celebrations are in full swing since my return home on Thursday night.  Its been a whirlwind, but in the best way.  Thursday night, fresh off the plane, my mom and I went to a lovely baby shower and then met some friends out for a few drinks.  Friday was the fastest day of my life, we spent the entire day running around town gathering goodies for my bridal shower the next day.  We covered every square inch of Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan.  Then for the first time in 6 months, I got to see my sister.  She arrived late on Friday evening.  With my mom and sis, we poured ourselves a glass of wine, lounged around on the patio and just enjoyed each others company.  It was marvellous.

Saturday was a wonderful day.  We spent the afternoon preparing for the shower and around 5:30 the festivities began.  Grandmas, aunts, lady cousins, childhood friends, it made me feel so special that these lovely ladies were all there for me.  I cherished every minute.

On Sunday, we ventured out to the cabin to celebrate Father's Day.  There I saw my grandpas, uncles, man cousins and I experienced another first for the year...it was a beach day.  I have been waiting for what felt like and eternity to sit on that beach.  And it happened.  It was glorious.

Today, I accomplished a few burning wedding issues.  Consider them smoldered.  Flower drama? What flower drama?  Not here.  Wedding dress doesn't fit?  Nothing a good seamstress can't fix.  Appointments with said seamstress, caterer, wedding venue, music man...all booked.  I hacksawed my figure-this-shit-out list.  It was another great day.

My sister documented the event-filled weekend on her handy pants phone.  I am grateful she did.  With wine and food occupying each of my hands for the past 96 hours, there was no room for my camera.

Sisters.

A must have.

With gourmet marshmallows!

We're not messin around.

The bon fire was just too far away.

Yep, its a giant chocolate marshmallow.

Pink cupcakes.

My mom, in her favorite spot.

The beach on Father's Day.

Candy bouquet for our dad and his sweet tooth.
