As if Nate and I haven't been entirely consumed with wedding planning, lately we have also been looking into getting our first home. There are so many things to be excited for this year, these are the biggest. Essentially, we have been waiting our entire lives or at least our entire relationship to have a place we call our own. We have always lived in hockey apartments or with our parents and because of hockey we thought it would be silly to get a home we would only live in for a few months out of the year. I've said it before, I will never regret our decision to stay in hockey as long as we did, but it did set us back a few years. Hockey shmockey.
So now we are more than ready to have our own place. While we are brimming with excitement that we too are financially ready for the undertaking, we both are readers of fine print and the thought of a mortgage frightens us a little. Fine print, lawyers, hidden fees, oh my. What is even more frightening for me, is the sticker shock so to speak. The cost of living in Edmonton is astounding. This small town girl is stepping way out of her comfort zone. Mortgage shmortgage.
Regardless, we are ready to make the largest purchase of our lives. With our pre-approval letter in hand, we are setting out to find our home. Our goal is to find a place before the wedding in July. With this crazy housing market I like to think we'll be successful. I'll keep you posted. Wish us luck!
Moving schmoving...We'll be there!! So Exciting:)
