While in Calgary this past weekend, Desi and I spent some time thrifting. I found some great pieces and my favorite treasure is a tiny book of translated German poetry. I love books that have a history and when I opened the cover I found a special inscription, "To remember Germany Mother". I'm not sure what I love most about it, the simple, elegant design, its tiny, delicate structure, or its dedication. The life of a book could be truly amazing and I like to imagine the life of this one. How it ended up in Mother's hands and how now it has ended up in mine.
