One might think..."how busy can a person with no job {and no children} really be?" Well, I devote this post to a day in my life to show you just that.
My day begins at 8am. My body {or my mind, whichever wins the battle} will not allow me to sleep past 8am and I'm okay with that, it gives me the chance to get things done as I accomplish most of my goals for the day before noon. From 8am-9am I am cleaning up the kitchen from the night before, throwing in a load of laundry, minding the doggie and getting my breakfast ready so that I can sit down and enjoy the only hour of television I watch all day {unless its a Thursday night of course}. From 9am to 10am I watch Departures, I really wish I had the ability to do what they do, they quit everything for a year and travelled the world, who wouldn't want that? At 10am I check the laundry, then get ready for a run {this is a new thing for me in Edmonton, I ran almost everyday for a while before I came here, geting back into it is tough, I hope it lasts!} After the run, I get lunch ready for Nate and I. He comes home from work everyday from noon to 1pm, so I can make him a delish lunch. After Nate heads back to work, I shower, then get ready for part 2 of my the afternoon which is different everyday. Sometimes I get crafty or bakey, sometimes I shop {or really just browse...trying to save mooolah here} My new fav places are Michael's and the Dollar Store where I find most of my crafty, bakey bargains. And somedays I just hang out with friends {hi Kathy :} Which is exactly what I did yesterday.
Kathy, her two adorable daughters and I went to visit a friend's bakery and have some amazing cupcakes. Her shop is called Sweet Krumblz, and her cakes were just that! It was so much fun and I was in seventh heaven browsing her bake shop. After cupcakes, we went strolling around West Edmonton Mall, which is larger than my hometown. Its always a little overwhelming everytime I go there, its just such a large mall with more stores than I've seen in my life, but in the chaos I always manage to find a few affordable goods :) After the mall, we went home to gather our men and we drove to Sherwood Park where we visited the wonderful Wray family. Tina {twinny to Kathy} made us a scrumptious dinner before we left the guys {to watch the kids} and headed out to catch the new Bridesmaids movie. It was such a funny flick, girls-you must see it! I still catch myself laughing {the doggie must be thinking I've lost it}. After the movie, we all piled in and drove back home. By that time it was 10:30pm and I hit the pillow hard. The day was great fun. Thank you Kathy and Tina!
Today, I have a few things on my to do list, one of which involves trying out a recipe for homemade salted caramels {will let you know how that goes} and later, Nate and I will head for a bevy with an old college hockey teammate of his. Oh the hard life! Happy Thursday!
