Hannah & Hazel

My dad always told us we would never get a dog.  We asked for years, but he never gave in.  One day he came home from work and said it was finally time, we could get a dog.  Hannah, our beautiful golden retriever, completed our family over five years ago now.  But we knew we were a one dog family.  And we knew our spoiled Hannah wouldn't stand for competition.  Since my sister and I moved out of the Soo, our parents began showing signs of empty nest syndrome.  Enter Hazel.  The newest addition to the Honkanen family.  Another beautiful golden retriever and Hannah's true sister, having the same dad.  Andrea and I thought our parents were crazy.  We were most hesitant about Hannah's reaction.  And she was not impressed.  Hazel is now 5 months old, she and Hannah have their differences, but they are making it work.  They might actually like each other.  I got to meet Hazel for the first time when I went back home.  She tugged on my heart strings.
