First Week of Summer

I'd like to say the reason for my absence was because I was incredibly busy, but the truth is, I was incredibly busy enjoying my last few lazy days of unemployment.  Yep, as you know I'll be home on Wednesday and 24 hours after I land, I'm getting right back into work.  So this week has been devoted to all things relaxing.

After raining for 12 days straight, the weather has finally cleared up here in Edmonton, and I have been taking full advantage.  I made a perfect little spot for myself on the comfy lounger in the quiet garden of a back yard, which is where I remained for three days.  And once I had a little summer glow, I decided I needed a mani-pedi to get ready for beach season.  With pretty phalanges, I took to the pavement to burn a few calories for that very same reason.

Then I took some time to sort out a few things for the wedding next summer, caught up on some paperwork, got a little crafty...oh annnnnd I got to hang out with a brand new beautiful baby girl,  I'm talking hours old.  It was very special and we are just so excited for the Neilson family.  Welcome baby Clara!

So far, this week has been wonderful.  And this evening Nate and I went to an Edmonton Capitals baseball game, okay I'm not actually a huge fan of baseball, but who doesn't like a beer in the grandstand.  And I'll leave you with a few photos from the game.  Happy Friday everyone!!

 Pardon the poor photography...

The downtown field.

Jose Canseco, he had a rough night...the Edmonton fans didn't help either.

They seemed pretty interested.
